Well it's that time of year again when the car gets put up for a few months in the garage or gets taken apart for a rebuild or just changing things around. Me, I can't leave anything alone, be it two or four wheel. Gassers and modified production cars that were raced in the sixties and seventies, that's the style I like, good old street and strip cars, but I like all cars if done right. I'm not a big fan of 17" and up rims and tires on '70 and older cars, or a lot of billet...but that's just me. Everyone is different and like different styles and that is what makes the car hobby so grand. I also like building custom motorcycles, mainly British.
I didn't do too bad this year at swap meets. I scored a large Fram fuel filter, Moon timing cover and gas pedal, chrome 7qt. oil pan, Crane stud griddle, aluminum short B&M water pump, gear drive timing set, a set of slicks and roller rocker arms. The best find of them all was a 6-71 GMC blower...complete set-up from scoop to manifold in excellent condition and for less than half the cost.
I HOPE THE 'OL LADY UNDERSTANDS... IT LOOKS GOOD IN THE LIVING ROOM!!
This winter will be filled with fabbing up parts for the gasser, radiator support, finishing up the tilt front end and polishing aluminum parts. I also polish parts for other people for a fair price or trade polishing for parts that I need. Email me if you need polishing work done.
We need cars to do articles on for the winter months. Come on guys and gals! Get your car featured on Licking County Now. We need finished and works in progress.
Our classifieds are up ad running now so if you have parts or cars you're looking to get rid of, advertise with us, it's free.
-Your Gearhead at Large, Bird P.S. Don't forget to winterize your vehicle and good luck on your winter projects. Have a good Thanksgiving!
